About Rolling Hills
The city of Rolling Hills is a gated, private community, located at the top of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. The community covers approximately 3 square miles and is comprised of just under 700 homes. Incorporated in 1957, and known for its sprawling single story ranch homes, Rolling Hills is a retreat away from the hustle and bustle. Here you’ll find a rural town, with its own quaint General Store and Post Office. There are three gated entrances, which are manned 24 hours a day and accessible by invitation only. The views are spectacular and include coastline, Catalina Island, and Downtown Los Angeles vistas.
Residents have their choice of high schools, either Palos Verdes High School in Palos Verdes Estates (Lunada Bay), or the larger Palos Verdes Peninsula High School, located in adjacent Rolling Hills Estates.
The developer was A.E. Hanson, who also developed Hidden Hills.
Homes are required to have white exterior paint.
The minimum lot size is 1 acre, and residents are required to maintain or have a space for horse property on their lot.
