About Rancho Palos Verdes
The city of Rancho Palos Verdes is located on the top and backside of the hill facing Catalina Island. Its nickname is “RPV” and it’s known for attractions such as: Los Verdes Golf Course, Terranea Resort, Trump National Golf Club Los Angeles, Peninsula Racquet Club and the Peninsula Shopping Center. There are nine specific areas in RPV: PV Drive East, PV Drive South, PV Drive West, Peninsula Center, Country Club, Los Verdes, Crest, Mira Catalina, and La Cresta.
Many of the homes have fantastic views of Santa Catalina Island and the Pacific Ocean.
Residents have their choice of high schools, either Palos Verdes High School in Palos Verdes Estates (Lunada Bay), or the larger Palos Verdes Peninsula High School, located in adjacent Rolling Hills Estates.
Interesting Facts:
The Sepulveda Family, beginning in 1809, raised cattle in this area they called ‘Rancho Los Palos Verdes’.
RPV is the largest (most populated) of the 4 cities on the peninsula.
